National Best Books Awards

The USA Book News National Best Books Awards winners for 2008 have been announced. Congratulations to all the winners! see complete list here.

2008 was the fifth year for the National Best Books Awards - an organization that honors "Outstanding Mainstream & Independent Books." All of the authors recognized by USA Book News deserve a pat on the back for a job done well and a great big thanks for creating outstanding reading entertainment for us to enjoy.

Continuing on yesterday's theme of improved quality in the independent publishing market, I'd like to point out that many independently published books competed successfully against their mainstream peers. I don't have a complete list of independent winners, but you can see the list from a single independent publisher here.

Once again - a great big CONGRATS!!! to all the winners. I'll be perusing the list for some new reading material. Have you read any of the books from the full winners list? If yes, please use the comments link below to share your impressions.
