I’ve volunteered to raise money as part of what is called, the 6-Month Moon Walk Challenge. I am a member of a team of work colleagues committed to walking 3 miles a day for the next 6 months. When complete, my team will have walked approximately 6,800 miles or the circumference of the moon. There are 4 other Logica teams taking up the same challenge for 4 different charities. My team is walking for the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis which is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the cure of MS by facilitating research that determines the causes of MS. I hope that you’ll help by donating any sum of money to this worthy cause.
Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, is a chronic demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system affecting over 400,000 people in the US and 2 million individuals worldwide. MS often results in severe disability including the inability to walk, impaired vision or in some cases blindness, cognitive dysfunction, bladder and bowel problems, extreme fatigue and other serious symptoms. Unfortunately, no one knows what causes Multiple Sclerosis, there is no known cure for the disease, and treatments are modest at best.
Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit public charity. When you donate to the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis (which is rated a four star charity by Charity Navigator) via this link: Donate Here your tax deductible donation (US tax payers only) will go directly to the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis. Also if you enter “Logica” in the message/comment box after you’ve entered your credit card details, our team will receive recognition for your kind donation. Once a donation has been processed you will receive an email that serves as a receipt for your donation and may be used to apply for a charitable contribution tax deduction on your US federal income tax return.
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis as your charity of choice and feel free to forward to anyone you think might like to know about this organization.
Let’s be a part of finding a cure for MS.
I created this blog to share positive, upbeat information. I only write reviews for books I love and feel good about recommending. I also enjoy sharing my writing/publishing learning experiences with other writers. I'd love to hear from you. Please use the comments link on each blog post to share your own views and experiences. The general schedule is reviews on Monday, writing tips on Wednesday, pot luck on Friday.

Pound a Week Challenge
This morning, in my 4 AM stupor, I signed up for Steve Mancini's Pound a Week Blog Challenge. I missed the blog part - - - was focused on the challenge of losing one little pound a week. It sounds so doable. So, I signed up. Then I read the guidelines and learned I'm supposed to blog about the experience. So here I am...blogging because I signed up. Haven't done anything else, mind you. But I've committed.
In the introduction, Steve introduced the idea of eating a bit slower, taking time to actually taste food. And here's a novel idea - - - if you find you don't particularly enjoy what you're eating, stop eating it. That sounds easy enough.
The other tip was a small lifestyle change that I'd already incorporated for a different challenge. The tip is

The reason I'm already parking further away from the entrance? That has to do with that other challenge I mentioned earlier - the Moonwalk Challenge. More on that tomorrow. I'm off and running, er, walking. When you drive to the store, park further away from the entrance.

National Health Care Decisions Day
"April 16 is National Health Care Decisions Day -- an invaluable opportunity for families across America to begin to make informed health-care decisions or revisit the decisions that have been made. And, imparting a lesson learned from my recent experience, I implore everyone to start the process of advance-care planning for yourself. Figure out what you want, document your wishes, inform your loved ones and urge them to do the same."

Has It Happend to You Yet?

When I started down the writing path, it never occured to me that strangers might recognize me. But, that's what happened yesterday. A lady I never met stopped me in a parking lot to tell me she recognized from a news article on a book release. She congratulated me on the book and continued on her way.
I was speachless.
Has this happened to you yet?

You've Written a Novel - Now What?
New writers are often surprised to learn they are expected to actively participate in all aspects of perfecting and marketing their books. That's right - the work doesn't stop when the last word is written; the hard work begins.
