TLA 2009 - Opening Day!

What an opening day. Librarians sure know how to throw a party!

Did I mention that I met Paula Poundstone? More on that when I have time to gather my thoughts and words. For now, I'd like to thank the conference sponsors, thank my sponsor, and then head downtown for Day 2.

The following organizations sponsored the conference and I'd like to take this time to thank them for supporting libraries - my favorite places on Earth.

  • Capstone Publishers
  • Baker & Taylor
  • DEMCO, Inc.
  • netTrekker d.i. (Paula Poundstone sponsor!)
  • School Library Journal
  • Bound to Stay Bound Books, Inc.
  • Brodart Company
  • Ingram Library Services Inc.
  • Renaissance Learning, Inc.
  • ABC-CLIO
  • America Reads Spanish
  • Best Buy
  • Davidson Titles, Inc.
  • EBSCO Information Services
  • Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc.
  • Highsmith Inc.
  • Mackin
  • ProQuest
  • Sentry Technology Corporation & Library Design Systems
  • Escue&Associates
  • Garret Book Company
  • Library Media Connection
  • Perma-Bound Books
  • Star Book Sales

I'd also like to thank my sponsor - The Final Twist Writers - and my wonderful booth mates, without whom my attendance would not have been possible.

I really did meet Paula and can't wait to tell you about it - later this week. Gotta run or I'll miss the opening session today.

Okay Missy...I'm sitting on the edge of my chair with bated breath...I want more and it's good to see that Best Buy is sponsoring the readers of America.

Paula Poundstone is a riot! I'm so jealous. You have to tell us about it.

Okay, Charlotte. Everyone sees librarians as quiet and demur. Set the record straight. Tell us what's really going on.
