We had a Halloween addition at Casa Phillips. Check out the trick-or-treater who came to stay.
This little guy cried at our front door until we let him (or her) in. We trekked door to door trying to find the right house, but were not successful. He/She (The vet said male, but then gave us paperwork that said female. We're thinking 'sexually confused' might be the correct label.) weighed in at a pitiful 1.8 lbs, but otherwise is in good health.
Our Halloween trickster needs a name, so we're holding a contest. If you'd like a chance to win a copy of A Box of Texas Chocolates - a mixed genre short story collection - please use the comments like below to suggest a name for the little black kitty.
I'm a great Halloween trick!

Magic as a name. Mags for short. dkchristi - author of Ghost Orchid & more http://www.dkchristi.com
How about Hocus Pocus?
Looking at the pictures I'll have to say "Mischief."
Stephen Tremp
awhhh! Darth Vader.
How about Mackenzie? I know, my bad!
Can we suggest more than one name?
Opal
Inky
Dusty
Sexually confused? How about "Thriller" in honor of Michael Jackson? ;-)
S/he's darling. How about Ebony or Midnight.
How about naming him "Trouble," if i had a cat, that's the name I'd use based on all the trouble cats tend to get into :)

Awww! I will have to think about it. I just needed to stop in and say awwwwww....what a cutie!
Thanks all! Please keep them coming. Mark has given up on SLF (you don't want to know), but is now championing Pyewacket. We definately need help.
I love all the names so far.
Charlotte
How about Chocolate Covered Peanut - or peanut for short - like one might find in A Box of Texas Chocolates.
In honor of his/her found date: Hal O. Ween. Call 'him' Hal...or 'her' Weenie
What a sweet little kitty. I'd name him Freudian Slip (Slip for short) because he's just a little slip of a thing.
He's very cute.
How about Funny Boy.
How about JET or SPUNKY for that little precious??
Betty Gordon
Koko, short for Kokopelli, the Trickster.
Whatever you call him, he'll have a dozen other names as well, I bet.
Our Sam has become Sam-Sam, The Bruiser, The Brick, LoverBoy and my favorite from Tim, The Happy Barbarian.
Boo. Seems appropriate for a Halloween find and it's short enough you have time to yell it while s/he is still getting into trouble.
I'd recommend something different: Eclipse.

Since the prize is A BOX OF TEXAS CHOCOLATES, I suggest
Godiva
or
Star
How about "Ceiling Cat" from lolcats? And he/she is adorable!
Apparently I'm some distant cousin of yours. Melanie, my aunt, or Jolene is also a reference, my mom. I say Thunder if it's a male. Raven if it's a female. I'm learning about Edgar Allan Poe, and we read "The Raven" today. I thought it suited the cat nicely.
Hi Courtney,
You sound so grown up! Melanie and Jolene are my first cousins. Your grandfather, Joe, is my uncle. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_cousin), we are first cousins-once-removed. Exciting, huh?
You and I have met. Soon after you moved to PA, I was passing through and stopped in to visit with Melanie for about 15 seconds of the whirlwind tour. That's when I met both you and your brother. It just doesn't seem possible that the itty, bitty girl I met (just last week, wasn't it?) can be reading Edgar Allen Poe.
Poe is one of my favorite, BTW. Have you read The Tell-tale Heart? Eldorado? Annabel Lee? The Pit and the Pendulum?
